There’s a moment most of us remember clearly.
The moment we decided to step away from the familiar.
From the paycheck, the system, the structure…
And into something uncertain.
When I first chose to launch my DPC practice, I felt two things at the same time: exhilaration—and a deep, quiet fear.
I had no guarantees this would work.
No certainty that patients would come.
No proof that it would be financially sustainable.
No clear roadmap for stepping into the kind of integrative pediatrician I felt called to become.
I was afraid… and I moved forward anyway.
Not because I had it all figured out.
But because I chose to take the next step, and then the next—trusting something deeper than certainty, even when the path ahead felt completely dark.
If you’re here, you probably know that feeling.
The fear that whispers:
What if this doesn’t work?
What if I fail?
What if I’m not ready for this?
In DPC, we often think the biggest challenges are logistical—pricing, panels, marketing. But what I’ve learned is that one of the most powerful forces shaping our decisions isn’t external.
It’s fear.
And fear, by itself, is not the problem.
Fear is a message.
But it is not a wall.
In this masterclass, we’ll explore how to recognize the difference.
We’ll talk about how fear—our ego’s attempt to keep us safe—can become loud, persistent, and paralyzing. That voice that tells you to stay where it’s comfortable. To wait. To not risk too much.
But what if the goal isn’t to eliminate fear…
but to change your relationship with it?
To hear the "barking dog" of fear, acknowledge it, even thank it for trying to protect you—
and then gently quiet it, so you can still move forward.
Because building a DPC practice isn’t about becoming fearless.
It’s about learning how to listen to something deeper than fear.
In this session, you’ll learn how to:
- Recognize fear as a normal—and expected—part of the DPC journey
- Differentiate between protective fear and intuitive guidance
- Move forward even when you don’t have certainty
- Build trust in your own decision-making as a physician and a leader
You don’t need to wait until you feel ready.
You don’t need the entire map.
You just need the willingness to take the next step—
even if the ocean feels vast, and the horizon is unclear.
You are not alone in this.
And you are more capable than your fear would have you believe.
